About TūTotara

Fordlands Youth Programme

TūTotara is a programme all about our youth. We want our youth to succeed in all aspects of life – our 2023 focus for our rangatahi is strong engagement in education, trialing all sports and obtaining employment.

We dedicate one night a week at the Huia Lyons park for sports, free bbq and all round fun for all of our whanau who live in Fordlands. We want to build relationships by hanging out, eating together and having fun!

We want to walk alongside with our rangatahi, helping them to develop life goals, understanding who they are, where their passions lie and how we can support them. We address barriers that limit wellbeing and provide opportunities and pathways to enable rangatahi to achieve their dreams. Our dream is for every child in Fordlands to complete high school and move onto tertiary education.  Through our Fordlands leadership group, we are developing community leaders who will pave the way for the next generation.

We are constantly developing new opportunities for our rangatahi, and the programmes change alongside the needs, so please keep an eye out on our Facebook page for any updates.
