Kia ora my name is Kristian Pomana, I am from Manatuke in Gisborne but moved to Mangere Auckland and attended Ngaa Tapuwae College for 3 years, this was a very difficult time of my life and endured a lot of loss which lead me to not make some good choices. 

 

I have worked at the centre for 5 years as the Employment co-ordiantor.  My passion is to support our community to find full-time employment as I have lived experience of moving from the unemployment benefit to a full-time job.  When I started working it changed my whole family’s direction and gave me purpose and the ability to provide for my 3 children. 

 

I have a background in water reticulation and labouring and worked for Infracore for 12 years and gained a lot of skills and experience.  Prior to that I took whatever job I could to try to get ahead and build a future for my family.   

 

Seeing our people find work and move out of poverty gives me the drive to keep going in this mahi.
